The billboard model is broken. Clients know it.

After 38 years practicing law in Michigan, Tim Attalla watched too many personal injury clients get handed to paralegals, pressured into lowball settlements, and ghosted for weeks at a time.

The industry’s own data shows it: client communication is the #1 grievance filed against PI attorneys nationwide. Billboard firms sign clients on volume, then process them on assembly lines.

Fire My Lawyer isn’t a litigation firm. It’s a matching platform. We find the clients who deserve better, qualify them, and route them to attorneys who run their practice the way you do.

Leads that are worth your time.

Every intake is scored by Claim IQ™, a deterministic rubric covering communication failures, case duration, documentation, and liability indicators. Cases below threshold don’t make it to your inbox.

Tim personally reviews every match before the handoff. When a referral arrives, it comes with a client summary, scoring breakdown, red-flag evaluation, and relevant case law — not just a name and phone number.

You decide whether to take the case. We don’t push volume. We push fit.

Why Join The Network

What makes this different

Pre-qualified, not pre-signed

Clients come to us because they’re unhappy with their current attorney or shopping for the right fit. They haven’t signed with a billboard firm. No chargeback mess, no client-poaching drama.

Client Care Advantage™

Network attorneys commit to the CCA standard: callbacks within 24 hours, principal attorney involvement, honest settlement ranges, and quarterly client touchpoints. It’s a marketing asset and a practice standard.

Professional handoff packets

Every referral arrives with a client summary, Claim IQ score breakdown, LLM-assisted case evaluation, red/yellow flags, and relevant Michigan case law. You start the relationship informed.

Privacy-first infrastructure

All client data stays on-premise. We use local Whisper for voice transcription and local Ollama for evaluation. No PII crosses to OpenAI, Anthropic, or any cloud AI vendor. Encrypted at rest with pgcrypto.

Tim’s name on the line

This isn’t a lead-gen shop owned by an out-of-state marketing firm. Tim Attalla personally reviews every match. His reputation is attached to every referral that lands on your desk.

Compounding referral flow

The CCA certification becomes a consumer-facing search layer in 2027. Attorneys in the network get priority visibility. Get in now, build the data, earn the standing.

Referral Lifecycle

From intake to your desk

  • STEP 1 Intake Client calls 1-855-FML-2DAY or submits at firemylawyer.com. Every intake captures case type, timeline, current attorney status, and client concerns.
  • STEP 2 Claim IQ scoring Deterministic PostgreSQL rubric scores the case on communication gap, case age, documentation, and liability factors. Ambiguous cases flagged for Tim’s review.
  • STEP 3 Case evaluation On-premise LLM generates a structured evaluation: summary, red flags, relevant precedents, fit indicators. Tim reviews.
  • STEP 4 Attorney match Network attorneys matched by case type, geography, and current caseload. You’re notified only for cases that fit your practice.
  • STEP 5 Handoff packet You receive a professional referral packet with everything needed to open the file. Tim’s direct line is on every packet.
  • STEP 6 Outcome tracking Quarterly check-ins on case status. Settlement outcomes feed back into CCA standing. The network gets smarter every quarter.

Tim A. Attalla

Founder · Second Opinion Law Group™

Tim spent 38 years building a practice on one principle: if people come together, problems get solved.

Detroit-born and Palestinian by heritage, Tim was admitted to the Michigan Bar in 1988 and opened his own practice that same year. In 1991, Governor John Engler appointed him to the Michigan Civil Rights Commission — the first Muslim to serve on the commission. He served two terms, through 1998.

From 1997 to 2012, Tim sat on the board of Seeds of Peace, the international youth-leadership organization that brings Arab and Israeli teenagers together to build the next generation of peacemakers. Fifteen years of board service. Not a line on a résumé — a commitment.

He has served on the Board of Trustees of ACCESS (Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services), and lobbied the U.S. government for funding toward the first children’s hospital in Jerusalem and a joint Palestinian-Israeli-American breast and ovarian cancer research collaboration.

In 2008, Shaare Zedek Medical Center awarded Tim the Guardian of Peace Award for his cross-community work.

“It’s time to tear the wall down and replace it with a bridge.”

— Tim A. Attalla, Jerusalem Peace Dinner, 2008

Tim founded the AMENA Civil Rights Center to serve Michigan’s Arab, Middle Eastern, and North African communities with affordable legal services and civil rights advocacy. The same principle drives Fire My Lawyer: people deserve an attorney who returns their calls, tells them the truth, and treats them as a human being.

“If people come together, so eventually will nations.” — Dwight D. Eisenhower, Tim’s signature quote

The Standard

The Client Care Advantage™ commitment

Attorneys in the FML network commit to a written practice standard. This is what clients are promised on our homepage — and what you deliver in exchange for network membership and priority referrals.

24-hour callback

Every client call or message receives a substantive response within one business day. No silent weeks.

Principal attorney involvement

The attorney on the billboard is the attorney on the case. Paralegal delegation is bounded and disclosed.

Honest settlement ranges

Clients receive a documented range at intake and at every major milestone. No surprise lowballs.

Quarterly check-ins

Standing case updates at 90-day intervals whether or not anything has happened. Silence is a red flag.

Plain-language fee disclosures

Fee agreements explained in plain English before signing. No hidden costs at settlement.

Outcome feedback loop

Settled cases report back to FML with outcome ranges and client satisfaction. Builds the CCA data layer.

Referral fee structure

Standard Michigan referral fee arrangement, compliant with MRPC 1.5(e). Specific terms are discussed directly with Tim before network entry.

Current terms (under confirmation)

Placeholder — to be confirmed with Tim. Typical structure: referral fee on settled matters, collected from attorney fee (not client recovery), documented in writing per MRPC 1.5(e). No fee on declined or dropped cases. No monthly network dues for founding network attorneys.

Interested in joining the network?

Tim is currently accepting a small number of founding network attorneys across Michigan. Practice-area coverage: auto, medical malpractice, premises liability, workers’ compensation, wrongful death.
